- Film Screening: “Racing Dreams” – with Q & A to follow screening
Marshall Curry directed the Academy Award-nominated documentary, STREET FIGHT, which won numerous awards and was nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy. The critically praised film was called “extraordinary” by David Denby (The New Yorker), “vastly entertaining” by John Anderson (Variety), and “filmmaking of the first order” by Scott Foundas (L.A. Weekly). Marshall was selected by Filmmaker Magazine as one of “25 New Faces of Independent Film”, and he was awarded the International Documentary Association (IDA) Jacqueline Donnet Filmmaker Award.
His current film, “Racing Dreams” is being lauded by critics everywhere and Scott Feinberg of the LA Times called it “One of the best films of the year so far…an instant classic”. Bilge Ebiri of New York Magazine states that Racing Dreams is “an exciting, poignant tale of growing up fast with adult ambitions“. Racing Dreams was also the Best Documentary winner at the Tribeca Film Festival and various other film festivals across the country.
