The Community Film Institute is a non-profit organization providing leadership in entertainment, education and outreach through the art of film. The Institute was established in 2001 as an all-volunteer effort to save, restore and operate an historic movie theatre. For most, saving the beloved theatre from demolition and its subsequent reopening would have been enough, but that was not the case for us. Our unique programs have been designed specifically to engage, educate and empower people. We firmly believe that through the art of film, we can change the lives of others.
